The “Weekly Wrap Up” post is published every Friday and highlights the concluding weeks activities and events through text, images and video. I hope you enjoy and encourage you to subscribe via RSS and/or Email.
Unlike last week, I welcome this beautiful Friday morning. I have been incredibly productive and made significant progress on multiple projects. I am most proud to announce the “Reputation Index” on eBranding Me.
The index scores an individual on three scales: 1) Enrolability, 2) Hireability and 3) Dateability. The algorithm pulls data from the SocialMention API and was created with the help of Michael Griffiths, a fellow Skidmore alumnus.
“eBranding.me proprietary algorithms analyze posts by and about you to quickly and accurately determine how compelling your social media presence is. We collect as much information about you as we can, but we place a higher value on newer information. Not only are the more recent postings more likely to represent who you are now, but they are also more likely to show up on a search about you on Google – the emergence of Twitter and Facebook have led to the ‘realtime web,’ which emphasizes newer information.”
Since eBranding Me was just a concept I have received tremendous support from my alma mater, Skidmore College. Alison Doyle, a Career Services Counselor at Skidmore and an avid blogger best known for her work on About.com, has been incredibly helpful over the past three months. Beyond providing valuable feedback and encouraging words, Alison has helped promote eBranding Me as a resource for Generation Y students to learn how to act socially responsible on the Internet. Just yesterday Alison published a post on About.com titled, “eBranding.Me: Analyze Your Social Media Presence,” that highlighted the Reputation Index as a “fun tool to use to see how well you’ve worked on building your brand.”

On Wednesday, I attended the Brazen Careerist “MeetUp” at the Roger Smith Hotel in New York City. Brazen Careerist is a social networking site for Generation Y professionals. The event provided a great networking opportunity for me and other social media enthusiasts who were able to attend. It is always great to connect in person with individuals I interact with online.

I will be traveling to Boston next week for Dan Schawbel’s sold out event to celebrate his recognition in Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30: America’s Coolest Young Entrepreneurs of 2010.” I would love to connect with anyone in the area during my stay. Please be sure to reach out to me through my Contact page.
