Weekly Wrap Up – 9.3.10

The “Weekly Wrap Up” post is published every Friday and highlights the concluding weeks activities and events through text, images and video. I hope you enjoy and encourage you to subscribe via RSS and/or Email.

Last week’s post was written before a long weekend of social and business meetings. I was able to attend the Social media Breakfast Tech Valley event in Albany, arrange time to meet with some faculty and administrators at Skidmore and end my Friday at the Crosby Stills Nash and Tom Petty concert at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC).

Scheduling my trips in advance enables me to maximize my time away from my desk. With social media consulting clients, eBranding Me and my personal blog needing daily attention, setting a schedule is necessary to achieve success.

As I quoted in a post, “Routines See Results,” on eBranding Me’s blog yesterday, Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” I practice the habit of adhering to certain principles in my everyday life – one of which is scheduling to maximize my time spent away from my work.

The post outlined three suggestions to aid individuals in becoming more productive: 1) Organize, 2) GTD and 3) Establish Routines. If used successfully, these three tools can result in a balance between one’s work and social lives.

“Success will come as a result of persistence.”
